Karith therapy offers effective, experienced professional services:

From 1st November 2006 new Medicare rebates will be available for patients with an eligible disorder for up to 12 services per calendar year. Please see your G.P or paediatrician for a referral using a GP Mental Health Care Plan. All our psychologists are members of the Australian Psychological Society. Please contact us for further details on psychological services. Private Health Fund rebates may also be available.

Psychology

This includes assessment and treatment by a qualified psychologist. The psychologist will assess the problem and determine the most appropriate treatment for you. We can help with problems including relationship counselling, marital therapy, anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, anger control, health issues, sexual difficulties, trauma and addiction. We also provide full assessment and therapy for children and adolescents, including management of learning disorders.

Child Early Intervention Services

This includes assessment and treatment by a qualified child psychologist. Intellectual and cognitive assessments, reports for schools and government, therapies for children and adolescents, including management of learning and behaviour disorders such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders. We provide home visits and school assessments.

Grief & Loss Counselling

This is a by a qualified psychologist and NALAG accredited grief and loss counsellor, this form of counselling is helpful in cases where there has been loss of loved one, injury or accident, loss of job or a short-term or long-term relationship. Hypnotherapy is also available to help speed up recovery.

Trauma Counselling

Trauma therapy to adults and children affected by abuse, violence or post-traumatic stress, regardless of whether it happened recently or not. Female and Male Psychologists can provide services under Victims of Crime Assistance.

Weight Loss and Personal Development Groups

8 Session Gastric Band Weight Loss Support Group after surgery for those wanting maintain healthy living and manage weight regain. Structured led group to assist with weight loss maintenance and work on anxiety, self-esteem and unhelpful eating habits. Individual Counselling is also available for those considering lap band surgery. Bookings are required. Runs in conjunction with Victorian Bariatric Institute.
